We have arrived in the future and have big plans for the second quarter of the 21st century. This year The Fridge (the house) turns 104, and The Society turns two… we promise not to be terrible. We’ve resolved to dial in our unique experience and build the luckiest founder community in Austin. I’m grateful for your friendship and hope to see you Fridge-side soon.

Top of the Fridge

• Founders who lunch. We have a couple of seats at the first of our lunch series this week on Wednesday, January 8th. We’ll discuss the state of Austin real estate with Fridge Member Tarek Morshed

• Raid the Fridge: Boozyless. Dry (or dry-ish) January your thing? Our next Boozyless N/A Happy Hour will feature Yasmin Santos, founder of Austin's Altar Native Bar, serving us up her story and unique zero-proof elixirs.

  

  Our N/A bar is fully stocked and ready to serve.

• Raid the Fridge: Boozy More. Our quarterly open happy hour is coming up on January 23rd. This one will include our two firepits, a Brandy tasting, and snobby snacks. Smoking jackets are optional, but encouraged.

• Something for everyone. Our Q1 event schedule is our best yet. Coffee tastings, Pinthouse Founder Story (and beer tasting!), Poker Tournaments, UT Football & Basketball, and much more. See below for all the details and RSVPs.

• 2025 could be your year. We’ve got a few more Fully Stocked membership spots before our next price bump. If you’ve been on the fence about joining the Society, now is an excellent time to apply (or cash in on a $1,000 referral bonus).

• Super Caffeinating: Our intimate coffee tastings—where we use the same beans in six different preparations—are some of my favorite events. So much so that we’re doing them twice a month now.

What’s Fresh in the Fridge?

Our calendar for the next few months is set, and our best yet. You can see our entire calendar here, but below are some featured events. Note that “Founder” or “Invite Only” events are limited to founders past or present and start on a waitlist.

• January 8th: Fridge Food: Lunch and Austin Real Estate Outlook Join us for lunch and a discussion led by Fridge Magnate Tarek Morshed about the investment opportunities (or not?) in the Austin area markets. TWO spots left.

• January 9th: Member Only Poker Night  Occasionally we’ll have a spot open up at the last minute in our house $1/$2 Texas Holdem Cash Game. If you are flexible on Thursday night, jump on the waitlist.

• January 10th at 6:30: UT in the Cotton Bowl (Invite Only)  If your heart can handle another UT playoff game, we're watching at the Fridge. 

• January 14th: Founder Coffee Tasting (Founders Only) Kick off the year with more coffee than you need and explore all the crazy coffee contraptions we have at the Fridge.

• Jan 15th: Fridge Live: Founder’s First Virtual Assistant (Founders only) Join Tomer Soran, the founder of Austin-based VA agency Effortless Hire, for a fridge-side chat about tips and tricks for how a founder can get started with Virtual Assistants.

• January 16th Boozyless N/A Happy Hour featuring local founder Yasmin Crystal Santos of Altar Native Bar– where herbalism meets modern mixology. Get your dry-ish January on.

• January 23rd: Raid the Fridge Fireside Brandy Happy Hour (Open) our quarterly community happy hour. This time we're stoking up both fire pits and doing a fireside Brandy tasting (Cognac, Armagnac, American Brandy, etc.)

• January 31st: Founder Coffee Tasting (Founders Only) Kick off the year with more coffee than you need and dig into all the crazy coffee contraptions we have at the Fridge.

• Feb 4th Pinthouse Founder Story and Beer Tasting (Founders Only).  Join two of the Pinthouse Pizza founders and lots of their beer for a unique night.

• Feb 11th:  Valentine's Couples Connection w/Dr Don Allen (Member Only) Join renowned couples therapist (and recent Fridge Magnate!) Dr. Don Allen, PhD, for an evening dedicated to deepening connection and intimacy. With decades of experience, Dr. Allen has helped countless couples navigate challenges and build thriving relationships through his compassionate, evidence-based approach. Limited to 10 member couples.

• February 27th Red Fridge POKER Society Founder Tournament Since these are always oversubscribed, we’re already opening the waitlist. After members get their seats, I prioritize founders that haven’t been to one yet, so sign up ($200 buy-in, prize pool was $15K last time!)

• March 1st:  RFS Mens Basketball Night at Moody Center (Invite Only)  We are doing a takeover of our Moody Suite for the UT/Georgia men’s basketball game.  After members grab their seats, we might have a spot or two.

Don’t Forget the Leftovers

• Too Suite. The Society shares a suite at the Moody Center with some other entrepreneurs, and we are awash in performances and basketball games. If you’re into UT basketball and need an occasional couple of tix, hit me up!

• Ah, the memories. In the last month, way back in 2024, we hosted a family office investor event, celebrated the launch of a member’s pet insurance product, hosted Authentic Austin’s Conscious Connection, and wound down the year with member happy hours.

• Signs Point to Delicious. Not that we were running short of beverages, but we have a new keg on tap: Hi Sign's Hi-Citra Hazy IPA.  Juicy/Hazy American IPA brewed with large amounts of Citra, Sabro, Mosaic, and Amarillo hops. medium-bodied, full of citrus, orange, and stonefruit, with a balanced finish.  6.9% Alcohol. 

Resolve to be Stone Cold in 2025
